To Shred or not to Shred

To Shred or not to Shred.

We have worked with a wide variety of individuals. Believe it or not, some think that it is ok to just tear a piece of paper in two, have it land-filled or recycled, and then that's it. Job done. The data has been protected.

Unfortunately that is not enough.

In order to comply with the Data Protection Act, you should shred it. Then you have to comply with the Waste Management Regulations 2011 and have the paper recycled.

Not as easy as you may have thought.

Two options for you:

  1. Shred this yourself. - You can use an office shredder.
However, this can be inefficient and time consuming. Did you know: A regular shredder can handle 30 pounds an hour - we can handle that same amount in around 30 seconds. - Did we mention you have to comply with the Waste Management regulations 2011 and still go on to have the paper recycled?
  2.

This option is easier - you can employ an approved and accredited shredding company to shred it for you.
This is a compliant, efficient, cost effective and secure service. This will ensure the data is protected and it means that you don't have to do this yourself. Once your paper is shredded it will also be recycled.

SO can provide a secure, efficient and reliable shredding service for businesses and organisations across the UK.
